Bellaquinta

The brief was a light, easygoing wine to drink by the sea. The name came from Latin, where gavia means seagull. The drawing came from watercolour: pale, light, cheerful tones, like an afternoon at the beach.

O nome junta a cidade e o vinho. The name brings together the town and the wine. It sounds like São Roque, and sans, French for “without”, sums up the natural fermentation: no commercial yeast, no shortcuts, only what comes from the grape and the place. The label followed the same idea of going back to the origin. I chose the 17th-century Chapel of Santo Antônio, the town’s historical and geographical landmark, as the central illustration on the bottle.
